Phoenix has officially exploded into the 5th largest city in America, yet our police force has withered. Today, we are operating with just over 2,500 available sworn officers—fewer than we had in the 1990s when the city was a fraction of its current size.

2,500 cops is simply not enough. I am running for City Council to fix our broken priorities, back our first responders, and build the force we actually need to make Phoenix great again.

The Goal: 5,000 Officers for a Safer Phoenix

We cannot police a massive, booming metropolitan footprint with a skeleton crew. My administration will fight to aggressively expand our ranks to at least 5,000 sworn officers. To get there, we must stop using outdated hiring models and think outside the box:

• Lower the Trainee Age to 18: Currently, candidates must wait until they are 20.5 years old to even apply. By lowering the hiring age to 18 for academy trainees, we catch career-minded young adults right out of high school before they choose other fields. We will incentivize early career decisions, providing a clear path into public service.

• National Recruitment Pipelines & HBCUs: We will expand Phoenix's recruitment footprint by establishing direct hiring pipelines with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and criminal justice programs nationwide. Let's bring the best, brightest, and most diverse talent to Phoenix.

• Aggressive Incentives: Offer industry-leading signing bonuses and home-buying incentives to make Phoenix the premier law enforcement destination in the Southwest.

Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods, Retailers, and Public Spaces

When a police force is stretched thin, criminals exploit the vacuum. A fully staffed force of 5,000 officers will allow us to move from reactive crisis management to aggressive, proactive community defense. We will:

• Relieve Neighborhood Retailers: Smash the rampant property crime and shoplifting syndicates that are bleeding our local businesses dry and forcing storefronts to close.

We will slash redundant city licensing and streamline permitting. We are going to clean up our neighborhoods, secure our streets, and make Phoenix safe, beautiful, and walkable again.

The Mandate: Zero Tolerance for Crime and Blight

When a city stops enforcing basic laws, criminal elements exploit the vacuum. We will restore order by aggressively targeting the criminal activity and dangerous behavior destroying our quality of life:

• Eradicating Violent Crime and Human Trafficking: We will aggressively hunt down, arrest, and prosecute human traffickers, pimps, and gang elements. We will fully cooperate with state and federal law enforcement to remove dangerous illegal aliens and violent offenders who commit assaults, muggings, and armed robberies.

• Shutting Down Open-Air Drug Markets and Illicit Activity: Prostitutes, street-level drug dealers, and fentanyl traffickers will no longer own our street corners. We are launching coordinated law enforcement sweeps to shut down illicit operations and permanently drive these criminal elements out of Phoenix.
